I’m sure you’re all excited to learn about the ChocConcept Belgium family. Therefore, we decided to introduce our team one by one.
Hey, my name is Bjorn van der Wee and I’m responsible for the North American market at ChocConcept Belgium Inc, and supporting the team in Europe while here.
How do you contribute to our years of experience and path forward?
That is an interesting story, but bottom line I have a good number of years of experience in chocolate export and I was responsible for sales in North America while located overseas. And I’m very happy to be a long-time friend of the family, and to be able to be part of this amazing journey!
What do find exciting about this business?
The chocolate industry is a small world. Everyone knows each other, which is great if your work ethics are good! I’m very excited to work on solutions for complex projects, involving multiple stakes holders and to grow together. Whether you are a customer, supplier or colleague, I believe mutual success can be achieved as long as there is trust and open and transparent communication.
Describe what you’d like to achieve.
I really would like to become the person (and company!) who’s on top of mind when it comes to added value, while working on chocolate related projects. Especially when using Belgian and/or European ingredients for a North American business.

ChocConcept Belgium Productions location
Happy New Year! We commence the new year with another update regarding ChocConcept Belgium Productions! Our factory will namely be located in Turnhout! Turnhout is the ‘capital’ of the (Flemish) Campine area and is well positioned at approximately (as the crow flies) 40km from the Harbour of Antwerp, 50km from the Harbour of Rotterdam and 70km from Brussels Airport. Direct access to Highway E34 makes sure our products can easily be transported. A fun fact is that Turnhout originated during the Middle Ages on the crossroads of two major trade routes. At the time they did not yet sell any chocolates there, however luckily, they do now 😉.

Diversity of products
Our factory will be able to produce a diversity of products. The range will go from many decorations like jura, pencils, blossoms and shavings,… to the semi-industrial chunks, drops and buttons that can be used as inclusion or melting chocolate.
ChocConcept Belgium Productions will distinguish themselves via the flexibility in taste, recipes, variations etc of these well-known products. Also, there will be a variety of options regarding packaging. Do you have an idea or inquiry that does not exist yet? No problem, we happily open up the conversation how we can accommodate as good as possible to your needs.
